We believe that all of the volunteers who participate in our activities or cooperate with us will discover joy in their work. Motto: “World as one family by Work Camp” This will be achieved through our activities and by our Global Network. 1. JIA (Joy In Action) 1.1 What JIA is Motto: “World as one family by Work Camp” This will be achieved through our activities and by our Global Network. Purpose: JIA was established in August 2004 to root work camps in China and to set up a work camp global network Activities: Campers (volunteers) from the local community always organize camps with volunteers from foreign countries (their counterparts). JIA assists of the coordination of work camps by: -collecting and sharing information about work camps in China -training the campers (volunteers) -connecting a work camp global network The Meaning of J.I.A.: JIA stands for “Joy In Action”. We believe that all of the volunteers who participate in our activities or cooperate with us will discover joy in their work. JIA means “family”; “family hood”; and “family tie” in Chinese. So we hope world will become one family by work camps. Fields of Work: JIA work camps focus on villages in China that have been affected by Hansen ’s disease (HD).
