Xinhua Hospital , Shanghai Second Medical University , Shanghai 200127 ， αina) [ Abstract] Objectin To evaluate inilially Ihe feasibililY and accuracy of real time three-dimensional echocardiography (3DE) for quantifying left venlricular volume in an in vitro experimenlal study. Meth创s Nineteen excised porcine heartll were examined by r臼I-time 3DE and convenlional two-dimensional (20) echocardiography wi tb Philips SONOS 1500 配ho cardiographic system. The measurement of their left ventricular volume examined by real-time 3DE was outlined and cðlcu- laled by 2-plane , 4-plane , 8-p lane and 16 plane method with Ihe 40 Cardio-View RT 01 TOMT EC image system . and their rcsults were compared wit h those of 20 biplane Simpson-method. The true volumc of excised porcine left ventricle m臼sured by water displacement was served as a reference standard. Resl且Its Full volume imaging in all excised porcine hearts was well displaycd by real-time 3DE.
