Module 8 Story time Unit 2 Goldilocks hurried out of the house. Good morning, ladies and gentlemen! It’s my great honor to have this opportunity to present my teaching design to you. I’ll try my best not to let all of you down. Today, the lesson I will be demonstrating is from New Standard English, Module 8 Story time Unit 2 Goldilocks hurried out of the house. I will analyze from the following six parts. Part 1 Analysis of the teaching material The topic of this module is about the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, which is related to ss daily life, so it’s a good topic to arouse their interest. Unit 2 is a reading and writing lesson. It uses the past simple tense to talk about what happened next in Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Part 2 Teaching Objectives According to the requirements of the Standard of New Curriculum, analysis of the teaching material and students’ cognitive level, the teaching aims and demands of this lesson are fixed as follows: 1. Knowledge objectives: To know the meaning of the new words and learn the sentence patterns to talk about the events. 2. Ability objectives: The students are able to use the past simple tense to talk about the events and they can use what they have learnt in the certain situation. 3. Moral objectives: Through the reading and writing activities, they can experience and share the joy of fairy tales, to develop interest in different cultures, and optimistic attitude, love life, enjoy life. 4. Teaching Important Points and Difficult Points To achieve the aims of this lesson, some points are specially emphasized as the important and difficult points. To lead the students to make use of the past simple tense flexibly to talk about the events and design tasks properly to help the students make use of the knowledge effectively. 5.
