L td. , B eijing 100088, China) 　　Abstract:　To treat chem ical fiber wastewaterwith high concentration is difficult and high treatment cost is required. UASB treatment can decompose the refractory and large molecular organics into small molecular organics, which is then treated by multi2stage contact oxidation p rocess and bio2carbon tank. The effluent COD concentration is less than 50 mg/L (COD removal rate up to 99% ) , and reaches the I2 class criteria specified in the In tegra ted W astew ater D ischarge S tandard ( GB 8978 - 1996). The engi2 neering p ractice p roves that the actual volume loading of UASB exceeds the design value, while the quan2 tity and pattern of m icrobe in the tank are kep t independent, showing the sim ilar characteristics to those of AB p rocess.
