1. Where were you born?
【讲解】be born意为“出生”, be常常用过去式,后跟宾语时,需借助介词in或on,如: be born in China (出生在中国), be born on Monday (出生在周一)。
【运用】请根据汉语意思完成英语句子,每空一词。
(1) 汤姆出生在北京。

(2) 我妹妹出生在四月二号。

2. What were they like?
【讲解】“What + be + sb. + like?”意为“某人怎么样?” 用来询问某人的性格特点,常用nice, friendly, kind, naughty等表示性格特点的形容词回答。与这个问句类似的还有:(1)“What do / does + sb. + look like?” 用来询问某人的特征或长相,常用tall, short, fat, thin, good-looking等表示外貌特点的形容词回答。(2)“What do / does + sb. + like?” 用来询问某人喜欢什么。
【运用】请根据汉语意思完成英语句子,每空一词。
