We have brought together leading experts in the fields of Chinese medicine as well as Western doctors and biomedical researchers to discuss ways by which Chinese medicine can contribute to health care within the mainstream of evidence-based medicine and to share the experience of other parts of the world like mainland China and Taiwan where biomedicine and traditional medicine work side by side to offer patients a more comprehensive range of therapies. We wish to express our appreciation to the Minister for Health, Singapore Mr Gan Kim Yong and the Director-General of the World Health Organisation Dr Margaret Chan for gracing this event.
