Methods hospital maternity hospital in October 2009 -2010 on Oct. 42 cases of postpartum urinary retention were randomly divided into treatment group and control group , in which acupuncture treatment group to take back with Ginger acupoints treatment. A control group was given neostigmine sulfate lmg intramuscular treatment. Results The total effective rate was 95.2% in the control group, the total efficiency of 80.9% in the treatment group significantly better than the control group (P lt;0.05). Conclusion acupuncture acupoints back with Ginger effective for the treatment of postpartum urinary retention. [Keywords: back acupoints; Ginger; postpartum urinary retention Postpartum urinary retention is a common complication of obstetrics, it refers to the lived within 6 ~ 8h bladder filling and can not urinate, if treatment is not timely, may affect the maternal uterine involution, postpartum hemorrhage, urinary tract infections, increased maternal physical and mental pain. 1 Materials and Methods 1.1 General Information 42 patients were hospital obstetrics and gynecology in October 2009 -2010 hospitalized patients in October, of which 25 cases of primipara, 17 cases by maternal age 19 to 39 years old, episiotomy alone in 15 cases, 5 cases of soft birth canal injury , 7 cases of prolonged second stage of labor, cervical edema, tearing, 3 cases of vaginal gauze packing to stop bleeding in 2 cases, 10 cases of cesarean section, episiotomy + forceps in 3 cases. 1.2 Methods 42 patients were randomly divided into two groups according to birth order, 21 patients in each group, (1) acupuncture treatment group to take back with Ginger acupoints treatme
