Antioxidant activity of procyanidins related research
Abstract proanthocyanidins (Procyanidins, PC) was extracted from a variety of plants in a class of substances. With a variety of biological activities, is a strong anti-oxidants, can eliminate free radicals to inhibit lipid peroxidation occurs, PC’s have played an important role in oligomer. This paper mainly with the antioxidant activity of PC-related research to be reviewed.

0 Introduction
Procyanidins (Procyanidins, PC) is a widely exist in plant kingdom a large class of polyphenolic compounds in general, initially attributed to condensed tannin integration or flavanols, with the isolation and identification techniques to enhance and in-depth study of such substances with a profound understanding has become a unique and a large class of substances called proanthocyanidins. Procyanidins are mainly distributed in grape, ginkgo, rhubarb, hawthorn, small forsythia, Douglas fir, Japanese Thujopsis, white birch, wild strawberries, coastal pine, sweet potato and other plants, but the study found that grape seed extract the highest levels of procyanidins. Since the 20th century, 80 years, people have dozens of plants, procyanidin oligomers and high polymers to the biological, pharmacological activity study found that proanthocyanidins is a strong antioxidant, has anti-oxidation, anti-cancer, protect heart blood vessels and other biological activity.
