Methods: A stratified random sampling method, retrospective analysis from 2000 to 2004 in our hospital 1200 cases of children with lower respiratory tract infection test results with common pathogenic bacteria resistance and antimicrobial agents. Results: The Chongqing area of lower respiratory tract infection in children with bacterial pathogens mainly the first one as Streptococcus pneumoniae, its high rate of penicillin resistance, at 55.0% about five years, there are slowly increasing trend; about 80.0% strains of cotrimoxazole, erythromycin and tetracycline resistance. Klebsiella pneumoniae in pediatric antimicrobial resistance gradually increased. The choice of antibiotics in our hospital with two joint-based, 98.0% of the intravenous drug use. Conclusion: The Chongqing area of lower respiratory tract infection in children with bacterial pathogens mainly its resistance can not be ignored, should pay attention to children with lower respiratory tract infection pathogens and antimicrobial resistance monitoring, rational use of antimicrobial agents.
