Methods We summarized undergraduate from May 2006 to July 2008 using medical thoracoscopy diagnosis of unexplained pleural effusion clinical data. Results A total of 90 patients after successful medical thoracoscopy, pleural biopsy confirmed microscopic pathology of 43 cases of tuberculous pleurisy, metastatic tumors in 18 cases, 12 cases of non-characteristic chronic inflammation of unknown causes in 10 cases, hepatic in 3 cases, pleural 3 cases of mesothelioma, lymphoma in 1 case. Pleural effusion rate was 88.9% (80/90). Tuberculous pleurisy is manifested mainly multiple pleural nodules, some of the white lesions with diffuse miliary nodules, and pleural thickening, showing that cord-like adhesions; and metastatic pleural tumor mainly manifested in the costophrenic angle, off-white single-diaphragm Department nodules and multiple nodules of varying sizes; non-characteristic chronic inflammation of pleurisy is mainly pleural congestion and edema, pleural thickening and fibrosis, or adhesions, you rarely have single or multiple nodular hyperplasia. All patients and postoperative vital signs were stable without serious complications.
