Methods 60 cases diagnosed as PHN were randomly divided into 2 groups: group (n = 30) for drug treatment group, group (n = 30) for continuous epidural block combined with drug therapy group for 4 weeks. were before treatment, 1,2,3 and 4 weeks after the visual analog scale ( VAS) and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) assessment, and evaluation of the efficacy of patients. The results compared with before treatment, two groups of patients after 1 week VAS, PSQI score was significantly lower (P lt;0.01), compared with group , Groups 1,2,3 and 4 weeks after treatment, when the VAS, PSQI score decreased, the total effective rate increased (P lt;0.01). Conclusion continuous epidural nerve block combined with medication is safe and effective method of treatment of PHN.
