PAGE \* MERGEFORMAT 8 Experimental tooth movement in the TG within the P2X3 receptor expression Author: Cao Yang, Lai Wen-Li, Yang-Xi Chen [Keywords:] orthodontic tooth movement; trigeminal ganglion;, ATP;,, P2X3 receptor Change of P2X3 receptor expression in rat trigeminal ganglion during experimental tooth movement [Abstract] AIM: To investigate the change of P2X3 receptor expression in the trigeminal ganglion sensory neurons after the nociceptive stimulation by orthodontic tooth movement force. METHODS: Male SpragueDawley rats underwent the mimic orthodontic tooth movement. Immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence were applied in studying the change of P2X3 receptor expression during experimental tooth movement. RESULTS: The proportion of P2X3 receptorpositive sensory neurons increased after giving force to the teeth of rats, to the peak 3 d later and returned to control values at 14 d. CONCLUSION: The P2X3 receptor expression is transiently upregulated and anterogradely transported in trigeminal primary sensory neurons in the process of orthodontic tooth movement. P2X3 receptor may play a role in the pathomechanism of nociceptive responses in primary sensory neurons during orthodontic clinic treatment. [Keywords] tooth movement; trigeminal ganglion; ATP; P2X3 receptor [Abstract] Objective: To study the orthodontic tooth movement in the afterburner after the P2X3 receptor in the trigeminal ganglia changes of expression to explore the P2X3 receptor in the mechanism of orthodontic tooth movement in the role of the pain. Methods: Male SD rats as subjects, simulated clinical orthodontic tooth movement process by means of immunohistochemical studies. Results: After the rats teeth afterburner observed trigeminal ganglion neurons P2X3 receptor-positive rate increased immune response and showed a certain pattern of time : 1 d after the experiment began to change, reached a peak 3 d after the experiment, 14 d and then decreased to basically the same with th
