Methods A retrospective analysis from January 2002 to June 2007 in our hospital, 15 patients with left atrial myxoma cases were confirmed by color Doppler ultrasound before surgery echocardiography confirmed, both in the cardiopulmonary bypass myxoma resection of the same period, 1 patient underwent mitral valvuloplasty and tricuspid valve plasty in 5 cases, atrial septal defect repair in 2 patients. Results 1 case died before surgery, no other and surgical perioperative death, were followed up 1 month to 5 years, 1 relapsed reoperation. the rest are up to clinical cure. Conclusion of a left atrial myxoma diagnosed as soon as possible after surgery, surgical results were satisfactory, the recurrence rate is low; echocardiography on the diagnosis and postoperative follow-up has an important role and should pay attention to postoperative follow-up.
