Methods 6 patients with ASD were anaesthetized and treated by minimally invasive incision and non-extracorporeal bypass. The occluder was selected and released under observation of transthoracic or transesophageal echocardiography. Results All patients were successfully occluded and no residual shunt was found by TTE and TEE. Conclusions Closure of atrial septal defect by minimally invasive and non-extracorporeal ways was safe, simple and worthy of clinical application.
