 PAGE \* MERGEFORMAT 14 Modified Z-laminoplasty treatment of ossification of cervical posterior longitudinal ligament [Abstract] explore the modified Z-posterior cervical open-door laminoplasty for treatment of cervical ossification of posterior longitudinal ligament (OPLL) of the effect. [Method] 36 patients with cervical ossification of posterior longitudinal ligament of Z-line open-door laminoplasty, in the light of Japan JOA17 sub-scores and analysis of all cases of short-term effect. [Results] 36 patients with an average follow-up 18  6 months, from preoperative (8  3 ± 3  2) points to improve to (13  8 ± 2  5) minutes, with an average improvement rate of 58  6%. Preoperative imaging showed 31 cases of cervical protrusion type, 3 cases of postoperative becomes linear; 5 for the linear preoperative and postoperative unchanged. No one cases of cervical kyphosis into type. Cervical flexion and extension activity reduced by nearly 1 / 3 and axial pain often occurs. [Conclusion] this treatment of cervical OPLL, vacuum thoroughly, fully expanded spinal canal to prevent the re-closing, is a safe and effective method.
