No X-ray guidance to the lower cervical spine lateral mass screw Technology

PAGE \* MERGEFORMAT 18 No X-ray guidance to the lower cervical spine lateral mass screw Technology 【Abstract】 Objective To investigate the X-lateral mass screw placement under the guidance of technical feasibility. Methods 29 patients were randomly selected, non-guided downward posterior lateral mass screw fixation and fusion surgery. Including 11 cases of degenerative patients, 6 cases of rheumatoid arthritis patients, 7 cases of trauma patients, 5 patients with cancer. 15 cases were males and 14 females, aged an average of 55 years of age (13-82 years old) were observed in patients with post-operative complications, evaluate the direction and angle of screw placement. Results The average follow-up time of 26.5 months (5-72 months), this group of cases of lateral mass screw placement without vertebral artery or spinal cord injury. All patients are given bone fusion. Conclusion No X-ray guidance to the lateral mass screw insertion under the technology is safe and effective, while avoiding both the patient and surgeon, the radiation exposure has shortened operative time. Keywords: behind the lateral mass of X-ray lateral mass screws 【Abstract】 [objective] To investigate the feasibility that lateral mass screws can be safely positioned without intraoperative fluoroscopy. [Method] a consecutive series of 29 patients who underwent posterior cervical arthrodesis and fixation with lateral mass screws when fluoroscopy is not used, The diagnoses included 11 cases with osteoarthritis, 6 cases with rheumatoid arthritis, 7 trauma cases, and the remainder involved metastatic disease. There were 15 males and 14 females (age range, 13 to 82 years; mean, 55 years). to observe the clinical complications and evaluated the screw trajectory and screw tip position. [result] The average patient follow-up duration was 26.5 months (range, 5 to 72 months), Lateral mass screw placement did not lead to injury to the vertebral artery or spinal cord in this series. A
