Methods used Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS) selected communities in elderly patients with depression, 3-month psychological intervention, the end of the follow-up after 3 months, with health survey questionnaire (SF-36) version 2 investigations in patients with 6 months, quality of life, to understand the psychological intervention on patients long-term effects. Results 6 months, intervention group patients quality of life, emotional function (RE), vitality (VT), mental function (MH), social function (SF) dimension scores were significantly higher in patients; and intervention ago the intervention group of health-related quality of life of patients with eight dimension scores were significantly improved compared with 3 months, no difference in the control group at 6 months in patients with health-related quality of life in physiological function (PF), Role-Emotional (RE) , vitality (VT), bodily pain (BP) and general health (GH) dimension scores significantly increased, and 3 months, comparing the differences between scores of smaller dimensions. Conclusion psychological intervention to improve depression in elderly patients with psycho-social aspects of quality of life of long-term effects; supportive psychological intervention programs targeted form is reasonable, by the community medical staff, applicable to the elderly in the community mental health care.
