Global Travel Gurus Choose Beijing 　　THE 10th Global Travel and Tourism Summit will convene in Beijing from May 25 to 27, 2010, hosted jointly by the China National Tourism Administration and the Beijing Municipal People’s Government. This yearly event of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) is the premiere gathering of the world’s travel and tourism industry leaders. 　　The WTTC, founded in 1990, is the global forum for business leaders in the travel and tourism industry. Its members include approximately 100 presidents and CEOs of the world’s leading tourism-related businesses, representing airlines, travel agencies, online retailers, cruiser companies, investment companies, hotels and transport carriers. 　　As the sole member of the WTTC on China’s mainland, the Beijing Tourism Group (BTG) has played a crucial role in bringing this world event to Beijing; its massive and efficient preparatory workconvinced the WTTC to select Beijing as its host for 2010. 　　The BTG is considered the “flagship” of the Chinese tourism industry, and has provided meritorious services for many important national and international occasions, such as the Beijing Olympic Games, Fortune Forum, China-Africa Cooperation Forum and the 60th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China. 　　As a major patron of this year’s WTTC summit, the BTG will undertake reception service duties.
