ThispaperdescribesasolarabsorptioncoolinginstallationlocatedattheUniversityofZaragoza(Spain).Theinstallationisbased 2 ontheperformanceofanabsorptionchiller.Thesolarcoolingsystemconsistsof37,5m of?atplatecollector,a4.5kW,single- e?ectLiBr-H2Oabsorptionchiller,andadrycoolingtower.Theinstallationprovidescoolingtoagymnasiumbelongingtothe sportscenteroftheuniversity.Tocarryouttheinstallationanalysis,thesystemwascontinuouslymonitored.In2007,2008and 2009,severalstudieshavebeenperformedinordertoanalyzethefullsystemoperation.Themeasureddatashowedthestrong in?uenceofthecoolingwatertemperatureandthegeneratordrivingtemperatureontheCOP.Duetotheexperimentalevidence ofthein?uenceofthecoolingwatertemperature,anewheatrejectionsystembasedonageothermalheatsinkhasbeeninstalled andstudied. 1.Introduction air conditioning [3].
