Asimple Cohen-Grossberg neural network withdiscretedelays isinvestigated inthispaper.The existence of local Hopf bifurcations is ?rst considered by choosing the appropriate bifurcation parameter,andthenexplicitformulasaregiventodeterminethedirectionofHopfbifurcationand stability oftheperiodic solutions. Moreover,asetofsu?cient conditions aregiven toguarantee theglobalHopfbifurcation. Numerical simulations aregiventoillustratetheobtainedresults. 1.Introduction In1983,CohenandGrossberg1proposedakindofneuralnetworks,whicharenowcalled Cohen-Grossbergneuralnetworks.Thenetworkshavebeensuccessfully appliedtosignal processing,patternrecognition,optimization,andassociativememories. Itiswellknownthattheanalysisofthedynamicalbehaviorsisanecessarystepfor practicaldesignofneuralnetworkssincetheirapplicationsheavilydependonthedynamical behaviors.
