Serous retinal detachment is a rare complication occurring in less than 1% of patients with ecla- mpsia. We here report such a case. We strongly recommend the need for an eye check up in all patients of pregnancy induced hypertension es- pecially in community based setup. Ophthalmic examination. Visual acuity was 2/60 and 6/60 in the right and left eyes respectively. Anterior seg- ment examinations of both eyes were normal. Fundus examination revealed cotton-wool spots, superficial hae- morrhages, focal and generalized constriction of the arte- rioles suggestive of Grade 3 Hypertensive Retinopathy.
