However, this approach requires the formulation of di?erential equations that express the time course of channelconductance.Ontheotherhand,ifthedynamicsareautomaticallyestimated,neuronalactivitiescanbeeasilysimulated. Byusingarecurrentneuralnetwork(RNN),itispossibletoestimatethedynamicsofchannelconductanceswithoutformulating + + thedi?erentialequations.Inthepresentstudy,weestimatedthedynamicsoftheNa andK conductancesofasquidgiantaxon usingtwodi?erentfullyconnectedRNNsandwereabletoreproducevariousneuronalactivitiesoftheaxon.Thereproduced activities were an action potential, a threshold, a refractory phenomenon, a rebound action potential, and periodic action potentialswithaconstantstimulation.RNNscanbetrainedusingchannelsotherthantheNa andK channels.Therefore,using + + ourRNNestimationmethod,thedynamicsofchannelconductancecanbeautomaticallyestimatedandtheneuronalactivities canbesimulatedusingthechannelRNNs.AnRNNcanbeausefultooltoestimatethedynamicsofthechannelconductance ofaneuron,andbyusingthemethodpresentedhere,itispossibletosimulateneuronalactivitiesmoreeasilythanbyusingthe previousmethods.
