AsEEGsignals arenonstationary,theconventional methodsof frequency analysis arenotsuccessfulfordiagnosticpurposes.ThispaperpresentsamethodofanalysisofEEGsignals,whichisbasedontime- frequencyanalysis.Initially,selectedsegmentsoftheEEGsignalsareanalyzedusingtime-frequencymethodsandseveralfeatures areextractedforeachsegment,representingtheenergydistributioninthetime-frequencyplane.Then,thosefeaturesareused asaninputinanarti?cialneuralnetwork(ANN),whichprovidesthe?nalclassi?cationoftheEEGsegmentsconcerningthe existenceofseizuresornot.Weusedapubliclyavailabledatasetinordertoevaluateourmethodandtheevaluationresultsare verypromisingindicatingoverallaccuracyfrom97.72%to100%.
