Thisstudyexploredthedegreetowhichinfant-toddlerchild-careteacherswereinvolvedintheircaregivingtasks,thenatureof theirjobcondition,andtherelationshipsamongcaregivinginvolvement,SESvariables(e.g.,age,income,education,andwork hours),andjobconditionincludingjobsatisfaction,burnout,andquittingbehavior.Forty-oneteachersfrom10daycarecenters insmalltownsoftheSouthwestparticipatedinthestudy.Resultsindicatethattherewasahighlevelofcaregivinginvolvementand jobsatisfactionamongtheteachers.However,mostteachersweredissatis?edwiththeircurrentincomelevels,showedamoderate levelofburnout,andyetdidnotexpresstheirintentiontoquittheirpresentjob.Correlationanalysesrevealthatteachers’job satisfactionwaspositivelyrelatedtotheirinteractionwithchildrenandcolleagues,resources,andtrainingbutnegativelycorrelated toburnoutandquittingbehavior.Teachers’burnoutandquittingbehaviorwerenegativelycorrelatedtotheirinteractionwith childrenandcolleagues,resources,training, andincome.Whilethedesiretoworkwith childrenhadasigni?cantimpacton teachers’jobsatisfactionandburnout,incomeandlevelofcollegialitysigni?cantlypredicted
