Highdimensionalbioinformaticsdatasetsprovideanexcellentandchallengingresearchprobleminmachinelearningarea.In particular,DNAmicroarraysgeneratedgeneexpressiondataareofhighdimensionwithsigni?cantlevelofnoise.Supervised kernellearningwithanSVMclassi?erwassuccessfullyappliedinbiomedicaldiagnosissuchasdiscriminatingdi?erentkindsof tumortissues.CorrelationKernelhasbeenrecentlyappliedtoclassi?cationproblemswithSupportVectorMachines(SVMs).In thispaper,wedevelopanovelandparsimoniouspositivesemide?nitekernel.Theproposedkernelisshownexperimentallytohave betterperformancewhencomparedtotheusualcorrelationkernel.Inaddition,weproposeanewkernelbasedonthecorrelation matrixincorporatingtechniquesdealingwithinde?nitekernel.Theresultingkernelisshowntobepositivesemide?niteandit exhibitssuperiorperformancetothetwokernelsmentionedabove.Wethenapplytheproposedmethodtosomecancerdatain discriminatingdi?erenttumortissues,providinginformationfordiagnosisofdiseases.Numericalexperimentsindicatethatour methodoutperformstheexistingmethodssuchasthedecisiontreemethodandKNNmethod. 1.Introduction andithcolumninthematrix.Thereareseveralpossiblecor- relationcoe?cients,themostpopularoneisthePearsoncor- relationcoe?cient,seeforinstance[3].Inthecaseofaper-
