Atrial ?brillation (AF) isa commonandfrequently disablingchronicconditionassociatedwith signi?cant patientmorbidity anda?ecting an increasingstratum of our ageing society. Direct costsrelated to atrial ?brillationare comprisedfrom direct costofmedical therapy, catheter ablation,andrelated hospitalizationsandimaging procedures, with indirect costsrelated to complicationsoftheprimary therapeutic strategy, managementofrelated conditions,aswell asdisabilityandlossin quality ofliferelatedtoAF.Overthelastdecade,catheterablationbecameapromisingalternativetorateandrhythmcontrolamong symptomaticAFpatients.Thepurposeofthispaperistodescribetheevidenceonthe?nancialimplicationsrelatedtoablation basedonpublisheddataandauthors’experience. 1.ImplicationsofAtrialFibrillation riskofdevelopingcongestiveheart failurewhileinAF[9].
