Here, we investigated JCV infection and viral DNA load in Chinese CRC patients and to determinewhethertheJCVDNAinperipheralblood(PB)canbeusedasadiagnosticmarkerforJCV-relatedCRC. Methodology/Principal Findings: Tumor tissues, non-cancerous tumor-adjacent tissues and PB samples were collected from137CRCpatients.Inaddition,80normalcolorectaltissuesamplesfrompatientswithoutCRCandPBsamplesfrom100 healthyvolunteerswerealsoharvestedascontrols.JCVDNAwasdetectedbynestedPCRandglassslide-baseddotblotting. ViralDNAloadofpositivesamplesweredeterminedbyquantitativereal-timePCR.JCVDNAwasdetectedin40.9%(56/137) ofCRCtissuesataviralloadof49.1to10.36104copies/ gDNA.Thirty-four(24.5%)non-cancerouscolorectaltissues(192.9 m to4.4610 copies/ gDNA)and25(18.2%)PBsamples(81.3to4.9610 copies/ gDNA)fromCRCpatientswerepositivefor JCV.TumortissueshadhigherlevelsofJCVthannon-canceroustissues(P=0.003)orPBsamples(P,0.001).Nocorrelation betweenthepresenceofJCVanddemographicormedicalcharacteristicswasobserved.TheJCVprevalenceinPBsamples wassignificantlyassociatedwiththeJCVstatusin
