MethodsandFindings:Informationfromnationwideprospectivelyrecordedregistersofhospitalization,drugdispensing frompharmacies,socio-economicdata,andcausesofdeathwaslinkedonanindividuallevel.Inanunselectednationwide cohort,weusedmultivariatePoissonregressionmodelscontrollingforage,gender,comorbidity,concomitantmedication, socio-economicdata,andcalendaryear,toassesstheriskofVTEassociatedwithpsoriasis.Atotalof35,138patientswith mildand3,526patientswithseverepsoriasiswereidentifiedandcomparedwith4,126,075controls.Patientswithpsoriasis hadhigherincidenceratesper1000person-yearsofVTEthancontrols(1.29,1.92,and3.20forcontrols,mildpsoriasis,and severe psoriasis, respectively). The rate ratio (RR) of VTE was elevated in all patients with psoriasis with RR 1.35 (95% confidenceinterval[CI]1.21–1.49)andRR2.06(CI1.63–2.61)formildandseverepsoriasis,respectively.Exclusionofpatients withmalignancies,andcensoringofpatientsundergoingsurgerydidnotaltertheresults. Conclusion:ThisnationwidecohortstudyindicatesthatpatientswithpsoriasisareatincreasedriskofVTE.Theriskwas highestinyoungpatientswithseverepsoriasis.Physiciansshouldbe
