Methods:Thestudyenrolled471patientswithadiagnosisofADconsistentwiththecriteriaoftheNational InstituteofNeurologicalandCommunicativeDiseaseandStroke/Alzheimer’sDiseaseandRelatedDisorders AssociationorwiththeDiagnosticandStatisticalManualDisorderscriteriafordementiaofAlzheimer’ stype. FollowingassessmentsoftheROSAandotherstandardassessments(Alzheimer’sDiseaseAssessmentScale- cognitivesubscale,SevereImpairmentBattery,NeuropsychiatricInventory,andDisabilityAssessmentforDementia), patientsweretreatedwithmemantinefor12weeks.FactoranalysisofthebaselineROSAtotalscoreswas performedbasedontheprincipalcomponentsmethodusingthevarimaxorthogonalrotationalprocedure.The psychometricanalysesoftheROSAincludedinternalconsistency,test-retestreliability,inter-raterreliability, constructvalidity,andresponsivenesstochangesovertime. Results:AllitemsshowedadequatefactorloadingsandwereretainedinthefinalROSAasFactor1(allitems relatedtocognition,communication,function,qualityoflifeandcaregiverburden)andFactor2(allbehavior items).TheROSAdemonstratedhighinternalconsistency(Cronbach’sa=0.93),test-retestreliability(intraclass correlationcoefficient=0.93),andinter-raterreliability(intraclasscorrelationcoefficient=0.91).Thecorrelation coefficientsbetweentheROSAandeachofthevalidatedscalesrangedbetween0.4and0.7,confirmingtheROSA constructvalidity.Nonsubstantialflooran
