Abstract
Background:Klebsiellapneumoniacarbapenemases(KPCs)areabletohydrolyzethecarbapenems,whichcause
manybacteriaresistancetomultipleclassesofantibiotics,sotherapiddisseminationofKPCsisworrisome.
LaboratoryidentificationofKPCs-harboringclinicalisolateswouldbeakeytolimitthespreadofthebacteria.This
studywouldevaluatearapidlow-costreal-timePCRassaytodetectKPCs.
