Abstract
Danggui,alsoknownasAngelicasinensis(Oliv.)Diels(Apiaceae),hasbeenusedinChinesemedicinetotreat
menstrualdisorders.Over70compoundshavebeenisolatedandidentifiedfromDanggui.Themainchemical
constituentsofAngelicarootsincludeferulicacid,Z-ligustilide,butylidenephthalideandvariouspolysaccharides.
Amongthesecompounds,ferulicacidexhibitsmanybioactivitiesespeciallyanti-inflammatoryand
immunostimulatoryeffects;Z-ligustilideexertsa
