Methods:ToevaluatetherelationshipoftheAuroraKinaseAandBandtheclinicalpathologicalparametersand prognosisofchondrosarcoma.72casechondrosarcomaand42casechondromawereperformed immunohistochemistryonthetissuemicroarrayparaffinsections.Thesurvivaltimeofpatientswasfollowed-up. Results:TheexpressionofAuroraKinaseAandBinchondrosarcomawassignificantlyhigherthanthatin chondroma(p0.01).ThereweredifferencesabouttheexpressionofAuroraKinaseAandBinchondrosarcoma betweentherecurrencegroupandthenon-recurrencegroup,metastaticgroupandnon-metastaticgroup (p0.05),butnotageandgender(p0.05).TheexpressionofAuroraKinaseAandBweresignificantlylowerin grouplowgradeconventionalchondrosarcomathanthatingroupsmediumandhighgradeconventional chondrosarcoma(p0.01).TheexpressionofAuroraKinaseAandBinchondrosarcomashowedapositive correlation(p0.01).AccordingtotheKaplanMeieranalysisandmultivariateCoxregressionanalysis,thesurvival ratewassignificantlydifferentbetweenthepatientswithpositiveAuroraKinaseAandthepatientswithnegative expression(p0.05)andAuroraKinaseAexpressionwasanindependentriskmarkerofsurvival(HR=11.263,95%CI: 2.317–54.748,P=0.003). Conclusion:BoththeAuroraKinaseAandBmightinvolveintheoncogenic,invasiveandmetastaticprocessof chondrosarcoma;however,themechanismisstillunclear.TheAuroraKinaseAandBcouldbeusedasanew prognosticmarkerandmoleculartherapeutictargetforchondrosarcoma.
