Methods One hundred and fourteen patients w ere randomized into two groups, the treated group administrated w ith selfformulated LWD, and the control group administrated w ith Wuzi Yanzong Pill ( WYP) . All were treated for 3 months. Patients semen w as analyzed before and after treatment, and the therapeutic efficacy w as evaluated. Results The total effective rate w as 9 8% in the treat ed group, w ith a partner pregnant rate of 86% ( 5/ 58) , w hile in the control group, they were 857% and 5 % ( 3/ 56) respectively . The efficacy in the treated group w as better ( P = 003) . Patients sperm count and viability of sperm w ere improved in both groups ( P 005 or P 001) , but the improvement in the treated group was superior ( P 005) . Conclusion LWD could effectively improve the condition of male infertility w ith oligospermia and asthenospermia.
