ABSTRACT: 4 degrees- of- freedom vibrationmodel for a two- axle truck is established, and the totalweighing
root- mean- square of vibration acceleration of sprung mass on front axle is adopted to evaluate the ride comfort and
the road friendliness of truck. The optmi izingmodel for suspension parameter design is established by using ride com-
fort and road friendliness as objective functions. Optmi ization for suspension stiffness and damping is finished by using
M atlab optmi izing tool. The smi ulation results show that suspension parameters have great influence on ride com fort
and road friendliness; after optmi izing suspension parameters, the totalweighing root- mean- square ofvibration ac-
celeration of sprung mass has a reduction of5% ~ 15%, and/ 95 percentage fourth power aggregate force0 of tire dy-
namic load has a reduction of2% ~ 3%. The research results show the validity of truck vibration model and optmi i-
zing model of suspension parameters, also offer a reasonable designmethod for heavy- duty truck suspension parame-
ter optmi ization.
