Design and application of automatic control system for
compactor in high speed wire

Abstract :Compactor is main equipment of high speed wire factory． To meet the control requirement of high speed wire production
in steel plant ，S7-300 PLC is selected as the kernel controller for the full automatic control of compactor． The designs of hardware ，
press trolley position control ，wire shelf movement control ，wire speed control and twist control of compactor automatic control sys-
tem are developed． Production practice shows that the technical indicators of compactor control system (e． g． high precision con-
trol and fast response)completely meet the process requirements． And the system is reliable ，easy to used that improve the effi-
ciency and reduce the cost of running and maintain．
