It contains huperzine A, ’ which is an acetyl cholinesterase inhibitor, and can be used as a specific medicine to cure the Alzheimer s disease. With accelerating of the world aging population, the demand of huperzine A is increasing. H. serrata is an ancient fern, and wild resources are exhausting, but it is extremely difficult to propagation.
