Abstract :T he design specification for flood-peak calculation of ur an small w atershed has not
een set up in domestic area. T he flood- peak calculation design usually employs rational formula
from China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropow er Research, empirical formula, and
outdoor drainage formula. Based on the characteristics of ur an small w atershed, the similarities
and differences, the applica ility, the advantages, and the disadvantages of these kinds of
calculation methods w ere discussed, the practical calculation examples w ere analyzed, and the
capa ility and suggested parameters w ere put forw ard.
