M e thods The clinicaldata of26 cases ofulcerative colitisunderwent surgery operation between January 1995 and December 2005 was analyzed retrospectively. In the all, 19 caseswere admitted because of the compl-i cations, such as colonic hemorrhage, colon perforation, toxicmegacolon, stoma fistula and so on. And 7 caseswere because of the failure ofmedicaltreatment. Twelve cases underwent emergency operation, and 14 patientswere selective operation.
