The Objective Significance of Writing the Thesis 1. The thesis aims to explore the translated text which could obtain the optimal relevance so that the target language readers can, to the largest extent, have the same feeling as the source language readers do and the original culture flavor can be retained to the largest extent at the same time. 2. Based on a more comprehensive classification of cultural-loaded words and combined with the corresponding translation strategy used in different contexts, this thesis helps to provide references for the best translation of culture-loaded words. 3. The paper writes from the perspective of relevance theory, making up the vacancy of previous studies. It can not only deepen peoples understanding of relevance theory, but also make an contribution for the translation of Lin Yutangs cultural works. II. Literature Review The culture-loaded word is called cultural vocabulary and cultural connotation of words and so on. Hu wenzhong distinguishes the non-culturally-loaded words from the culture-loaded words which carry culture information and reflect the profound culture. In recent years, the translation of culture-loaded words have attached more attention by scholars, and gradually developed into the hot spots of research.
