METHODS W e investigated the peripheral IFN C/CD3 T subsets and IL 4/CD3 T subsets of patientsw ith coronary arterial disease ( CAD) and controls by flow cytometric analysis and T helper 1/T helper2 related cytokines by ELISA. RESU TS T helper 1 cells increased in unstable angina pectoris (UA) and AM I group comparedw ith those in stable angina pectoris ( SA) and controls; T helper 2 cells remained largely unchanged around the tmi e of plaque destabilization; The levels of T helper 1 related cytokines, IFN C and IL 2 were higher inUA and AM I groups than those in SA and control groups.
