ABSTRACT Tianjin, the center of Bohai economic circle, is becoming a third stage of Chinas economic development. Hexi District, as Tianjin Municipal administrative center, cultural arts center, business center, creative industrial base, is working hard to build good landscaping space in urban areas for improving the ecological environment and constructing eco-livable city in urban areas, to accommodate need of rapid development of economic and cultural in Tianjin. Through historical documentation, the paper divides the development of landscaping space into four stages: retrospect, foreign studying, development and prosperity. This paper takes landscape ecology, landscape ecological planning and greenway as the theoretical base through analysis of landscaping space history and present situation, summarizing its structure existent problems in Hexi District, such as insufficient greening amount, inadequate greening pattern supplying, and severe level of environmental contamination, the shortage of corridor and so on. This paper puts forward some principles: ecological priority, integrated construction, and People - centered integration to improve amount and quality of greening pattern and to perfect corridor connectivity. It aims to construct the way of optimization and integration solutions. Based on full use existing green space resources, this paper determined “one shore, three centers, four belts, five groups and 24 gardens” , combined with the characteristics of regional waters.
