Method: A stratified sampling plan along su h variables as age, sex, geographi region as well as edu ation and o upation of subje ts parents was adopted. Subje ts were taken from 8 provin es spreAd over 7 major administratiVE re- gions. Results: The normalization sample onsisted of 1 591 urban hildren aged 3 to 16 years divided into 10 age groups. Norms in luded three kinds of s ores as the raw s ores, the s aled s ores and the deviation standard s ore, Results of some measuring of reliability and validity showed the following: Test- retest reliability o- effieient for a sample of 66 hildren with a test- retest interval of one to two weeks ranged from 0. 46 to 0. 78. The inter orrelative oeffieients between the deviation standard s ore of NIT and the VIQ, PIQ and FIQ of C- WISC based on a study of a sample of 72 hildren are 0. 47, 0. 64 and 0. 60 respe tively. Conclusion: The present findings point to NIT AS one of THE effE tive instrumentS for measuring the intelligen e of Han normal hildren and omparing it with thOSE of spe ial populations.
