Especially today, computers are very popular, multivariate statistical analysis has been widely used in many fields such as social science and natural science. It is more applied in economy, finance and medicine, but less applied in education teaching. Especially some normal college faculty used it so little that their work efficiency was affected. Through using statistics package for social science (SPSS), we can study all fields related with normal university faculty and can make teaching work of college teachers better and better. College faculty occupies multivariate statistical analytical meted to deal with databases in each field of their work and use them to guild their teaching work through the conclusion gotten in statistical analysis. Meanwhile they can also supply theory bases for division of function department. This study bases on multivariate statistical analysis in theory and analyzes the close relation between principal component analysis method and factor analysis method. The results of study show factor analysis method is senior to principal component analysis in the analysis of student achievement. Meanwhile, the study introduces relevant rules of factor analysis method in selecting factors and the application of factor estimation of students. Namely, through relational data collected, student’s achievement is given a factor analysis, comprehensive evaluation is also done for students. And the reason of instituting courses and different traits of different types of students are also done. It can also guild to hunting job. The study also introduces what should be pay attention to when doing cluster analysis by SPS
