Hemingway was his namesake. World War I against his fathers wishes, tried to see action in World War I. joined the Red Cross Ambulance Corps. Spanish Civil War Hemingway moved in 1931 to Key West, Florida, where he established his first American home. Over the next 9 years, until the end of this marriage in 1940,he wrote many works in this house. Spanish Civil War In 1937, Hemingway traveled to Spain in order to report on the Spanish Civil War.
