ODwyer has a clear voice and vivid, witty writing style that covers such topics as loyalty, hard work, tradition, honesty, and patriotism without a hint of irony so prevalent in todays culture of snark and cynicism. His story about courage is a tribute to mothers (and parents) everywhere who make numerous sacrifices on behalf of their children and families that seldom get the attention they deserve.Overall, How to Raise a Good Kid is a terrific reminder that parents have been struggling with the same issues for generations and a wonderful return back to childhood for those of us with children of our own.
