2、如果是不定代词做句子的主语，如anything ,everyone,everybody,nobody 等，谓语动词通常用单数形式。如： Everybody has his bobby. 3、当主语后面有as well as ,like , but ,except, with 等引导的词语时，谓语动词的单复数形式通常与这些词语前面的主语保持一致。如： The woman with two children is our teacher. Nobody except his parents knows it. 4、某些单复数同形的动物名词，如deer、fish、sheep等，他们做主语时，谓语动词用单数还是复数，取决于该名词所表示的数。如： There is a sheep under the tree. There are many sheep on the hill. 2、以s结尾的名词，如果表示的意义是单数，则谓动词用单数形式，如maths、politics、physics等。如： Physics is a difficult science. 3、有些名词形式上是单数形式，但表示复数意义，谓语动词要用复数形式，如：people, police等这些集合名词。如： The police are looking for that lost boy. 4、the加形容词表示“这一类人”做主语，谓语动词要用复数。如：the poor,the rich, the young, the old, the sick等。如： The old are going to be taken good care of. 3、both、few、many、several等用做主语时，谓语动词用复数。如： Both of them are bad. Few of them believe that. Many have come. Several of us think that is wrong. 4、“more than+基数词+复数名词”结构做主语时，谓语用复数。“more than+one+单数名词”结构做主语时，谓语动词用单数。如： More than twenty students are playing football on the playground. There is more than one answer to your question. 5、many a意为许多，但因后面的是单数名词， 谓语动词用单数形式. 6、基数词做主语，谓语动词通常用单数。如： Fourteen means four and ten.
