The author reviewed research in ecological engineering to explore new idea of construction of engineering and technology. The concepts of ecological engineering, progress of basic research and application in ecological engineering were introduced. The role of ec泪10gicaI engineering to engineering and technology and some related enlightenments were explored from the disciplinary perspective. By introduction of ecological engineering, the author aims to discllss a new value of engineering , which can meet cuηent more complex environmental and social demands.
