This work is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution International License (CC BY). /licenses/by/4.0/ Abstract Self-discrepancy refers to the inconsistency among the actual-self, ideal-self and ought-self. In or- der to research the self-discrepancy on the fresh graduate examinees, the method of question- naire survey is used. The results show that: 1) relative to the discrepancy between ought-self and actual-self, the difference between the ideal-self and actual-self is much larger, 2) the main effect of the discrepancy between the ideal-self and actual-self is significantly different, therein, the woman’s difference is bigger than man’s. The results may prompt gender difference in the self- discrepancy.
