Grammar Focus If : Subjunctive clause 虚拟语气从句 Subjunctive mood 由if引导的表示假设状态的句型，if 引导了一 个状语从句，与主句联合构成。共分为四种 基础句型： 1.纯条件的虚拟语气 2.与现在事实相反的虚拟语气 3. 与过去事实相反的虚拟语气。 4. 与将来状况相反的虚拟语气。 1.纯条件的虚拟语气 即我们所说的“主将从现”句型。 If it rains, we will choose to stay at home. If the sun rises from the west, The earth will change into another world. *特殊句式 If you try to ask him, dont mention my name. you must catch up with others,if you feel being fallen behind. If you have money, you should help the poor. If you have money, you must help the poor. If you have money, you ought to help the poor. 2.与现实事实相反的虚拟语气 使用格式为：if+主语+一般过去式 ，主语+ would/could/might/should/ought to +V.原形 If I were you , I whould tell her the truth. If they were you. They might go that way . If she were fine, she could help you with your work . If there were no planes, we human might spend much more time travelling from North pole to South pole than we expected. 特殊句子 If I had time, I would write the letter. If I had time, I should write the letter. If I had time, I ought to write the letter. But you cant say : If I had the money, I must help the poor.× 与过去事实相反的虚拟语气 If的从句要用过去完成时态来写，主句则用助 动词(would/could/might/should)的过去式 + have +done的格式来写。 表达的意思为：与过去/当时发生的事情相反 的情况。 If I had arrived there earlier. I might have rung him up . If the car had driven away a few more minutes earlier. They would have survived from the terrorists attack. If we Chinese had been more power during Qing dynasty. We would have never been invaded by the Japanese Nazists. If he had taken your advice, he would have avoided making thr mistake. 意为： (As he didnt take your advice, he made the mistake.) 特殊部分 如：have time / have money 与现实相反的句子： If she had money,she would buy a car . 与过去相反的句子： If she had had money, she would have bought the car. 与将来状况相反的虚拟语气 if +主语+should+V原形，主语+would/could/might/should+ V原形。 表示可能性较低的说法： If you should fail me , you could cut off your head when you come back to see me . 万一你失败了，你就提头来见我。
