It is a well known tea in China. Dragon Well tea is a local product of Hangzhou, and is mainly produced in dragon well village to the southwest of the West Lake. Especially authentic are those produced on Lion peak, tiger spring, dragon well and Yunqi. There seems to be some kind of relation between the quality of tea and the natural conditions in the tea plantation. The climate of dragon well village is gentle and makes a clean distinction between four seasons, and the rainfall is plentiful, in addition, the soil is mostly sand soil, a bit acid, and the structure is loose, keeping in touch with water completely. It is most favorable to the growth of the tea trees. The timing of picking tea is very decisive, for tea picked in different seasons have distinct qualities. “Tea before Qingming”(the tea plucked before Qingming) is the most precious.
